Claim your Unclaimed Pension contribution from LIC

Previously, the Indian Airlines Employees Self Contributory Pension Scheme formed in 1998 operated as a Benefit Defined Scheme, guaranteeing members a fixed percentage of their last drawn salary. Because in 2003, the scheme was transitioned into a Contribution Defined Scheme for unknown reasons.

Employees were given the option to either accept benefits under the new scheme or reclaim their contributions. Contributions remained stagnant with LIC for those who didn't opt for benefits under the new scheme. Efforts were made by a member of the Air India Collective Team consequently, the amount grew substantially from Rs.1 crore to approximately Rs.7 crores. THIS AMOUNT BELONGS TO THOSE RETIREES WHO DID NOT GET REFUND OF CONTRIBUTIONS.

Despite attempts to locate retirees and refund their contributions, there are still over 2000 retirees with contributions totaling Rs. 6/7 crores stuck with LIC. Exact figures are being confirmed with Air India.

We request Air India for an updated list of retirees with contributions still held by LIC to facilitate eligible retirees in claiming their dues accurately. WE HAVE UPDATED A LIST HERE OF RETIREES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO GET THEIR PENSION REFUND BACK HERE WHICH CAN BE SEEN BY PRESSING...

Please note that these cases are different from routine claims upon annuitant demise, where LIC refunds directly to nominees. In these cases, Air India administers the return of pension contributions, as LIC lacks member details. The amount payable to retirees is reflected as a lump sum in their schedule. Therefore, please don't approach LIC for a refund. Therefore to identify those and to get their unclaimed amount back we have created this Claim page.
